The "Critical Care Services Ontario" (CCSO) recently released "Provincial Guidelines for the Management of Medically-Refractory Epilepsy in Adults and Children Who are not Candidates for Epilepsy Surgery".
The new resource is for Epileptologists, Neurologists and Primary Care Providers caring for patients with medically-refractory epilepsy. The new guidelines provides an approach to the management of patients with medically-refractory epilepsy including evidence-based treatment such as pharmacotherapy, ketogenic diet and neurostimulation.
The new guidelines is a provincial initiative to implement an integrated system for epilepsy care in Ontario.
