Ontario Partners with China to Support Young Scientists: Dr. Amer Johri begins a two-week exchange in ChinaPublished Fri Aug 5th 2016
Queen’s Department of Medicine faculty member Dr. Amer Johri has taken to the skies as he embarks on the Ontario-China Young Scientist Exchange Program (YSEP).
The goals of the exchange program are to facilitate and encourage collaboration between Ontario and Chinese research institutions. Select Chinese researchers arrive in Ontario later this month and Ontario’s researchers have just flown to China to begin their exchange.
Reza Moridi, Minister of Research, Innovation and Science, when discussing the YSEP, states that:
“Fostering opportunities for young scientists to work in other countries helps set the stage for their careers and the kind of collaborative research that is essential to making scientific advances in an innovation economy. The universities where these young scientists will study will also benefit from the diversity of thought and experience these scholars bring with them.”
