Dr. Randy Wax has been named Regional Director of Clinical Education, where he will oversee the training of more than 240 medical students and residents from Queen's University each year at Lakeridge Health.
As Regional Director of Clinical Education, Dr. Wax will lead the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing professional development education programs of Queen's University Faculty of Health Sciences at Lakeridge Health. This includes the development of a new comprehensive clinical clerkship program where some of Queen's University medical students in their last year of training will complete their entire clinical training at Lakeridge Health.
Approximately 70% of all medical learners from Queen's University receive their training at Lakeridge Health. The LHEARN Centre is also the academic home in Durham Region to Queen's Family Medicine Program, helping train eight new residents each year in Bowmanville, Oshawa and Port Perry.
