Hemostasis/Thrombosis

The Division has a major focus on the basic science of thrombosis and hemostasis. Dr. Lillicrap studies the molecular genetics of von Willebrand’s disease and gene therapy of hemophilia. Dr. James has taken a lead role in developing a clinical research program into the genetics of von Willebrands disease and other disorders of coagulation and thrombosis.

Epidemiology and Clinical Trials

Dr. Meyer and Dr. Eisenhauer are respectively Director, and Director of the IND program, at the National Cancer Institute of Canada Clinical Trials Group. Dr Lois Shepherd is a Physician Co-coordinator in the same organization. The attending physicians in Hematology contribute to NCIC clinical trials. Dr Silva contributes to a number of pediatric studies.
