Undergraduate Program

Dr. Paula James chairs the hematology block, a three-week course of lectures, seminars, medical science rounds, case presentations, and practical sessions in hematology. The program is widely regarded as one of the best and has been studied by the educationalists because of this.

Clinical Skills: Members of the Division contribute to the phase I and phase 2 clinical skills sessions

Problem-Based Learning: division members contribute to this program

Clerkship: Clinical clerks rotate through the inpatient unit, clinics and consulations

Summer Students are supervised on a regular basis in hematology (e.g. the ASH scholarship)

HemeTeam: Dr. PR Galbraith (emeritus professor of hematology) has devised an interactive teaching program as a companion to the study of hematology, aimed at undergraduates and trainees in internal medicine. It is also available on CD ROM from Dr. Galbraith: instructions on how to obtain it are on the HemeTeam home page.
