Dr. Taylor attended medical school at Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. Following this he completed his residency training at the University of California at Los Angeles in general medicine and nephrology. After several years on faculty at UCLA, he was recruited to the Queen’s Department of Medicine. Here he has been actively engaged at all levels of medical education from undergraduate to fellowship training. With much excitement and enthusiasm he took on the program director position for the core residency program in July of 2015. Along with his clinical and educational duties, he is also currently enrolled in the Masters of Health Professions Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Dr. Barry Chan initially studied in Dublin, Ireland, for undergraduate medicine. He then completed both his Core Internal Medicine Residency and General Internal Medicine Fellowship at Queen's University.  Subsequently, he joined the Division of General Internal Medicine at Queen's in 2015. His academic interest includes medical education and point-of-care ultrasound from the perspective of a General Internist.

Dr. Awad completed her Internal Medicine residency training at Queen's University in 2015 and Endocrinology and Metabolism subspecialty training at the University of Ottawa. Dr. Awad joined the Faculty of Medicine as an Assistant Professor in August 2017.

Dr. Awad is passionate about Medical Education and will be pursuing a Master's of Health Professions Education (MHPE) at the University of Ilinois at Chicago (UIC). She is p;articulary interested in curriculum and assessment in the era of CBME. Her clinical interests are thyroid cancer, pituitary diseases and obstetric medicine particularly endocrine disorders in pregnancy.

Dr. Stephen Gauthier is an Internist and Assistant Professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine at Queen's University. He is a Queen's Alumni, having completed an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering at Queen's prior to medical school. He studied medicine at the University of Toronto whwre he completed medical school, internal medicine residency and specialty training in General Internal Medicine. He joined the Division of General Internal Medicine at Queen's in 2017.

Dr. Gauthier's clinical practice primarily involves attending on the internal medicine Clinical Teaching Units at Kingston General Hospital. He also attends on the internal medicine consults service and ambulatory clinics. Dr. Gauthier is passionate about medical education with a particular interest in how feedback and direct observation impact assessment and learning.
