Dr. Wendy Wobeser is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine at Queen’s University at Kingston Ontario, with cross appointment to the Departments of Biomedical & Molecular Sciences, and Public Health Sciences. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine, with a sub-specialty in Infectious Diseases.
Dr. Wobeser is an Internationally recognized leader in the field of Tuberculosis, serving on the Tuberculosis Section Executive of the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease, the Canadian Tuberculosis Committee, and provides consultation to Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Correctional Services Canada.
Dr. Wobeser served as director of the HIV clinic at Kingston General Hospital for a number of years from 2003. She is recognized as a senior HIV clinical expert with particular interest in treatment for the incarcerated. Iin addition to providing research leadership with the Ontario HIV Treatment Network and the Canadian Institute of Health Research HIV Clinical Trials Network.
Currently, she is a member of the Canadian Network on Hepatitis C, with a special focus on prison-related screening and treatment outcomes.
Dr. Wobeser is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan College of Medicine, and holds an M.Sc. in Epidemiology from the University of Toronto.
