◊ 2020-2021 Application Updates (Dec 2020 Update)

We require 3 letters of reference as part of the application. All of these should come from faculty members who can attest to your capability as a prospective resident. They do not need to come from internists.

We had previously offered an additional option - a  Standardized Senior Resident Reference that could be used in place of one faculty letter. Due to a recent decision made by the AFMC Resident Matching Committee (ARMC), this option is no longer possible. We are sorry for this last-minute change.

We realize this change has come several months after we launched this option and many applicants may have already solicited a senior resident referee. Applicants that have done so and already included this letter as one of the three references in their application will not be penalized - your file will be treated equivalently with no negative impact on your application.

All reference letters are provided free of expectation or coercion. Any student/applicant who perceives any unwelcome behaviour related to a reference request should contact their Student Affairs office immediately. The program strongly supports any applicants who experience unwelcome behaviour of this kind and will facilitate confidential reporting.

◊ Life in Kingston

Kingston has much to offer as a city - it is highly encouraged that all applicants visit the PGME Life in Kingston website that highlights the best services and attractions in the region.
