Dr. Geneviève C. Digby joined the Department of Medicine (DOM) at Queen’s University in 2016 in the Division of Respirology with a cross-appointment in the Department of Oncology.  She completed medical school, residency in Internal Medicine, and fellowship in Respirology at Queen’s University. She then completed a Masters of Science in Healthcare Quality.  In 2021, she was the first physician at Queen’s to be promoted to the rank of Associate Professor in the academic track of Clinician Scholar - Quality Improvement.

She is the clinical lead for the Lung Diagnostic Assessment Program, a rapid assessment clinic that coordinates the care of patients with suspected lung cancer. Her clinical practice otherwise includes general respirology and bronchoscopy, including endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS). 

She is passionate about Quality Improvement (QI) in healthcare, particularly in terms of improving timeliness and access to care for patients with cancer, as well as optimizing resource utilization and streamlining health care processes. She is the Chair of Kingston Health Sciences Centre Physician Quality Lead and co-Chair of the Department of Medicine Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Committee.

Dr. Digby has received several awards from Queen’s University and the DOM, including the Dr. D. Laurence Wilson Professionalism Award in 2020, awarded to a faculty clinician who best exemplifies the attributes of the profession that graduating class members of the Queen’s School of Medicine aspire to emulate; the Young Clinician Award in 2017, awarded to a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor in the DOM who is deemed by their colleagues to demonstrate outstanding clinical acumen and who provides exemplary patient care; and the Best Medical Grand Rounds award in 2017 as voted by members of the DOM for: “Improving Quality and Value in the Lung Diagnostic Assessment Program”.
