Dr. Marko Skrtic grew up in Hamilton, Ontario. After undergraduate studies in Biology at McMaster University, he pursued the MD PhD program at the University of Toronto where he completed his PhD under the supervision of Dr. Aaron Schimmer studying mitochondrial biology in acute myeloid leukaemia. Afterwards, he completed internal medicine training at the University of Toronto, followed by Nephrology fellowship at McMaster University.  Recently, he has competed a clinical onco-nephrology fellowship at the University Health Network, and a research fellowship with Dr. Lisa Robinson studying macrophage cell biology at the Hospital for Sick Children as a part of KRESCENT post-doctoral fellowship program.
