Dr. Nihal (MD (MBBS), MPhil, MSc), who practiced as a medical doctor overseas, has been with Queen's since 2016 as a researcher and educator. She did her first Master's degree in Human Physiology (2012) and completed her second Master's degree in Anatomical Sciences from Queen's University (2017). Her research interests are in the development of online modules for Cardiac and Lung Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) for Medical Schools. She is the author of the first two chapters of E-learning POCUS modules for novel users currently housed on the ASE (American Society of Echocardiography) official website. She is a part of the ongoing study for testing the POCUS modules with the medical students at Queen's University, School of Medicine. She has experience of working as a part of the course development team for Queen's Bachelors of Health Sciences in DBMS where she has been involved in the development of multiple online health science courses including Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Human Reproductive Health as well as online modules on Human Structure and Function for Queen’s School of Medicine.

As TIME Manager, she plays a vital role in managing the virtual institute with 244 members to date. Her current duties include managing the department of medicine internal grant competitions, annual symposia, assistance in the development of the TIME strategic plan, organizing meetings relating to TIME governance, operating its official website. She oversees the financial and accounting administration for TIME. Dr. Nihal is also responsible for fulfilling the Department of Medicine's research administrative duties
