Dr. Zardasht Jaff completed his medical degree at Hawler Medical University, Kurdistan, in 1999. He subsequently pursued postgraduate training in Canada, completing his Core Internal Medicine Residency in 2014, Cardiology Residency in 2016, and Echocardiography Fellowship in 2017 at Queen’s University. In 2018, he joined the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology at Queen’s University as a staff cardiologist and Assistant Professor. His clinical and academic interests focus on cardiovascular imaging, including transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, stress echocardiography, structural heart disease, and valvular heart disease. He has a particular interest in the use of advanced imaging techniques to support accurate diagnosis, guide clinical decision-making, and optimize patient outcomes.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Jaff is actively involved in medical education and cardiovascular imaging training. He serves as Program Director of the Echocardiography Fellowship Program and Assistant Program Director of the Cardiology Residency Program at Queen’s University, where he is involved in the education and mentorship of cardiology fellows, residents, and medical students. His academic interests include echocardiography quality assurance, guideline-based cardiovascular imaging, and the application of multimodality imaging in complex cardiovascular disease. Through his clinical, educational, and scholarly activities, Dr. Jaff is committed to advancing excellence in cardiovascular imaging and improving the care of patients with cardiovascular disease.
