Curtis has 16 years research experience and before joining QCPU he worked as the laboratory manager and senior research assistant in the Department of Medicine, Gastrointestinal Disease Research Unit (GIDRU) located in the Kingston General Hospital. Before his time at GIDRU, he was a research assistant in the Department of Biochemistry at Queen’s University. Curtis holds a Diploma in Biological Technology from St Lawrence College.
His extensive experience in laboratory management lends well to his role at QCPU, where he will be assisting Dr. Patricia Lima in the Cytometry and Molecular Imaging laboratory. Curtis will run services of flow cytometry, cell culturing, and confocal microscopy. He will be responsible maintenance of the equipment and for helping users develop experiments, create timelines and troubleshoot issues.
