TIME Core Room 1611

The TIME Core Flow Cytometry and Cell Culture Laboratory provides an integrated platform for high-resolution cellular analysis and advanced in vitro experimentation.

Led by Dr. Patricia Lima and Curtis Noordhof, the facility supports research across immunology, cardiovascular biology, oncology and translational medicine through advanced flow cytometry, cell sorting and cell culture services.

This lab overlaps with the Small-Particle Laboratory.

Flow Cytometry

The laboratory is equipped with advanced instrumentation for high-dimensional cellular analysis, phenotyping and complex cell-sorting workflows.

Beckman Coulter CytoFLEX nano for nanoparticle quantification and cytometry

The Sony ID7000 Spectral Cell Analyzer is an advanced high-parameter flow cytometry system configured with up to 7 lasers and 186 detectors to support complex 44+ color panels

The Sony MA900 Multi-Application Cell Sorter is an automated, microfluidic chip-based flow cytometry instrument designed to isolate cells with up to 12 fluorescence parameters and 4-way sorting

Beckman Coulter CytoFLEX nano is a purpose-built nanoscale flow cytometer designed to detect and characterize extracellular vesicles and nanoparticles down to 40 nm. This equipment is part of the Small-Particle Laboratory.

Sony SH800 Cell Sorter is a compact, benchtop flow cytometer designed for automated, precise cell sorting across a wide range of cell sizes.

Featured instrument: Sony ID7000 Spectral Cell Analyzer

The Sony ID7000 is a high-parameter spectral flow cytometry system capable of detecting more than 40 colours. Its diffraction-grating optical system captures continuous spectral data, helping improve signal separation, reduce spectral overlap and support complex multiparameter analysis.

Six spatially separated lasers: 320, 355, 405, 488, 561 and 637 nm
184 PMT detectors
Approximately 10 nm spectral resolution
Sensitive side-scatter detection for particles down to approximately 80 nm
Standardization mode to support reproducible results across instruments and days

Cell Culture

The laboratory also provides a fully equipped cell culture environment supporting routine and advanced experimental workflows.

Services include:

Custom cell culture services
Real-time proliferation and viability assays using the Agilent xCELLigence RTCA system
Transfection using the Lonza Nucleofector

Pricing

Flow cytometry services start at $60 (tech time) + $60 (instrument time) = $120/hour.

Sorting services are $160/hour
