The Division of Endocrinology invites you to celebrate World Diabetes Day on November 14th. The day is celebrated annually on the birthday of Dr. Frederick Banting. It is a time to remember the importance of the discovery of insulin, Dr. Banting’s legacy, the history of diabetes, and raise awareness about diabetes and its complications. The theme for this year’s World Diabetes Day is “Access to Diabetes Care”.
Did you know that lung cancer causes more deaths than any other cancer? Unfortunately, significant differences in cancer survival outcomes exist across the province of Ontario for patients with newly diagnosed lung cancer.
After 16 years of dedicated service, Dr. Michael O’Reilly is officially retiring on October 27, 2023. Dr. O'Reilly is a cardiologist and general internist specializing in hospital medicine. He is a graduate of Memorial University and trained in internal medicine at Memorial University and Cardiology at Dalhousie University.
GIDRU would like to announce the retirement of faculty member, Dr. Michael Blennerhassett. An integral part of GIDRU, Michael made many invaluable contributions in the laboratory and classroom and will be dearly missed by his colleagues and students.
Dr. Nicole Mittmann is this year's TIME Speaker for the Medical Grand Rounds.
Dr. Mittmann is an expert in Health Economics and will be giving a talk on Thursday, January 27th, 2022.
