The TIME Core Flow Cytometry and Cell Culture Laboratory provides an integrated platform for high-resolution cellular analysis and advanced in vitro experimentation.
Led by Curtis Noordhof and Dr. Patricia Lima, the facility supports research across immunology, cardiovascular biology, oncology and translational medicine through advanced flow cytometry, cell sorting and cell culture services.
Flow Cytometry
The laboratory is equipped with advanced instrumentation for high-dimensional cellular analysis, phenotyping and complex cell-sorting workflows.

- Sony ID7000 Spectral Cell Analyzer
- Sony SH800 Cell Sorter
- Sony MA900 Cell Sorter
- Beckman Coulter CytoFLEX nano for nanoparticle quantification and cytometry
Featured instrument: Sony ID7000 Spectral Cell Analyzer
The Sony ID7000 is a high-parameter spectral flow cytometry system capable of detecting more than 40 colours. Its diffraction-grating optical system captures continuous spectral data, helping improve signal separation, reduce spectral overlap and support complex multiparameter analysis.
Key features:
- Six spatially separated lasers: 320, 355, 405, 488, 561 and 637 nm
- 184 PMT detectors
- Approximately 10 nm spectral resolution
- Sensitive side-scatter detection for particles down to approximately 80 nm
- Standardization mode to support reproducible results across instruments and days
- Spectral Reference Library to reduce the need for repeated single-colour controls
- Integrated Autofluorescence Finder
- Live spectral unmixing
- Spectral Reference Adjuster
- Automated clog detection and self-cleaning probe

Cell Culture
The laboratory also provides a fully equipped cell culture environment supporting routine and advanced experimental workflows.
Services include:
- Custom cell culture services
- Real-time proliferation and viability assays using the Agilent xCELLigence RTCA system
- Transfection using the Lonza Nucleofector
