Acute coronary care and cardiology ward services are located at the Kingston General Hospital and general cardiology outpatient clinics are held at the Hotel Dieu Hospital. Specialty clinics are Arrhythmia/Syncope Clinic (HDH), Adult Congenital Heart Disease Clinic (HDH), Congestive Heart Failure (HDH) and the Cardiac Rhythm Device Clinic (KGH).
Diagnostic services include: electrocardiography, ECG treadmill testing, ambulatory ECG recording, transthoracic echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, treadmill stress echocardiography, tilt table testing, pacemaker function, invasive electrophysiologic studies, cardiac catheterization and angiography.
The Divisions of Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery work in a closely integrated fashion to serve patients requiring cardiac surgery. The invasive cardiology program includes diagnostic angiography coronary angioplasty and stenting procedures. In the latter part of 1999 we added catheter ablation procedures for arrhythmias and implantable cardiac defibrillators as new treatment services.
