Hemostasis/Thrombosis

The Division has a major focus on the clinical and basic science of hemostasis. Dr. Lillicrap studies the molecular genetics of von Willebrand disease and gene therapy of hemophilia. Dr. James has taken a lead role in developing a clinical and translational research program into the pathophysiology and impact of von Willebrand disease and other bleeding disorders.

Epidemiology and Clinical Trials

Dr. Meyer and Dr. Eisenhauer are respectively Director, and Director of the IND program, at The Canadian Cancer Trials Group. Dr Lois Shepherd is a Physician Co-coordinator in the same organization. The attending physicians in Hematology contribute to CCTG clinical trials. Dr Silva contributes to a number of pediatric studies.

Dr. Michael Rauh studies the genetic and immune origins of clonal hematopoiesis (CHIP) and myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), and the clinical translation of myeloid next-generation sequencing (NGS).
