GIDRU comprises a multidisciplinary group of clinical and basic science researchers with a wide range of expertise, including gut microbiome, motility, and neuroimmune pain signaling, in both health and disease. We routinely use animal models, cell cultures, molecular biology, mass spectrometry, and sophisticated imaging. Moreover, GIDRU actively integrates with the GI Clinical Trials group, who conduct government-funded, and pharmaceutical-sponsored studies in motility, liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and other gastrointestinal-related conditions.
We provide training opportunities to students at all levels in their career journey. Whether you are interested in starting a 4th year thesis project, pursuing a graduate level degree, or honing your research skills and professional development as a postdoc, we are always on the lookout for bright, curious, hardworking trainees to join our team. Many of our trainees go on to secure leading positions in academia, medicine, and industry.
