Dr. Kinan Hayani joined Queen’s University in 2025 as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Dermatology. He brings more than 15 years of clinical and academic experience from leading medical centers in Germany, the United States, France, and Syria. He obtained his MD from the University of Aleppo and completed dermatology training across several renowned institutions, beginning at Aleppo University Hospital, followed by Hôpital Saint-Louis in Paris, the University Hospital of Heidelberg, and finally the University Hospital of Munich (LMU), where he later served as an attending dermatologist and dermatopathologist at Munich Academic Hospital. Before joining Queen’s, he also pursued advanced training as a visiting scholar at Wake Forest University in North Carolina.
Dr. Hayani holds multiple board certifications in dermatology, dermatopathology, allergology, and medical cancer therapy. He is a Fellow of the European Board of Dermatology and Venereology (FEBDV) and has earned both the MRCP(UK) Specialty Certificate in Dermatology and the ICDP–UEMS Diploma in Dermatopathology.
His clinical and academic interests include, but are not limited to, skin cancers, dermatopathology, occupational dermatology, and inflammatory skin diseases. He is dedicated to excellent patient care, advancing research, and supporting the education of trainees and students in dermatology.
