Dr. Stephen Gauthier is an internist and Assistant Professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine at Queen’s University. He is a Queen’s Alumni, having completed an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering at Queen’s prior to medical school. He studied medicine at the University of Toronto where he completed medical school, internal medicine residency and specialty training in General Internal Medicine. He joined the Division of General Internal Medicine at Queen’s in 2017.
Dr. Gauthier’s clinical practice primarily involves attending on the internal medicine Clinical Teaching Units at Kingston General Hospital. He also attends on the internal medicine consult service and ambulatory clinics. Dr. Gauthier is passionate about medical education with a particular interest in how feedback and direct observation impact assessment and learning.
