COVID-19 Update: There are two new cases of COVID-19 in our region today. The running total for the epidemic is thus 61 cases in the KFL&A region. This is a cautionary note, reminding us the virus is still circulating at a low level in our community. Nonetheless, the prevalence and incidence of the disease remains low in our area.

COVID-19 Update: There are no new cases of COVID-19 in our region today leaving the running total for the epidemic at 59 cases in the KFL&A region. There are no COVID-19 patients in KGH today. Locally we did 309 tests and 4 were positive, with 3 of these being from Perth-Smith falls and 1 from the Peterborough area.

COVID-19 Update: There are no new cases of COVID-19 in our region today. There are a total of 59 cases of COVID-19 in the KFL&A region. There have been 38 cases in the Hasting-Prince Edward County area but a much higher incidence to the north and east in Leeds/Grenville/Lanark with 291 cases. There is 1 COVID-19 patient in KGH today on the Connell 3 COVID-19 ward. There are 7 designated COVID-19 outbreaks in regional long term care facilities but none in KFL&A (most affected facilities are in Leeds/Grenville/Lanark).

COVID-19 Update: Of 3664 tests for COVID-19 performed to date in the KFL&A region (see map below) there have been: 59 positives, 3456 negatives (with 149 tests pending). This is a cumulative 1.7% positivity rate.

April 24, 2020 - Dr. Archer's Update on COVID-19 response from the DOM and Medicine Program

COVID-19 Update: There are no new cases of COVID-19 locally today. There are 58 cases of COVID-19 in our region. There are 2 COVID-19 patients in KGH today, both of whom are on the Connell 3 COVID-19 ward. Testing positivity rate remains <2% in KFL&A. Our PPE reserve is ~2 weeks supply and we are using our pandemic stores of PPE as a buffer for any potential supply chain delays. Thus, the local situation remains very positive with a flat incidence of COVID-19. This shows that our community interventions and physical distancing are working.

April 23, 2020 - Dr. Archer's Update on COVID-19 response from the DOM and Medicine Program

COVID-19 Update: There are no new cases of COVID-19 locally today. There are 59 cases of COVID-19 in our region and of these 54 people have recovered and 2 have died. There are 2 COVID-19 patients in KGH today, 1 in the ICU and 1 on the Connell 3 COVID-19 ward. Yesterday, 314 SARS-CoV-2 tests were performed at KGH and 5 were positive; however, none of the positive tests were from the KFL&A region. As has consistently been the case, the positive tests were from communities to the west (Haliburton/Peterborough, n=3) and north (Perth-Smith Falls, n=2).
