Dr. Paul Malik is an Interventional Cardiologist and Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Director at Kingston Health Sciences Centre. He previously served as Hospital Program Director of Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology Lead. In these roles, he was instrumental in developing the structural heart program, including transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), and in expanding the regional STEMI network to improve access, coordination, and outcomes for patients requiring urgent reperfusion therapy. He completed his cardiology and interventional training at the University of Calgary.
In addition to his clinical leadership, Dr. Malik is actively involved in medical education. He is the former Director of the undergraduate cardiovascular course at Queen’s University, where he led significant curricular modernization focused on innovative teaching strategies, improved assessment methods, and enhanced learner engagement.
His academic interests include structural heart disease, systems-level cardiac care delivery, and cardiovascular education.
