Dr. Hannah O'Neill is a Palliative Medicine physician and Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Queen’s University, with a cross-appointment to the Department of Critical Care.
Originally from Ireland, she completed her undergraduate degree in Physiology at Trinity College Dublin before earning her medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. She subsequently moved to Canada to complete her Internal Medicine residency at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. She then pursued further subspecialty training at Queen’s, completing fellowships in both Critical Care and Palliative Medicine.
Since completing her training, Dr. O'Neill has been practicing as both an Adjunct Intensivist and Palliative Care Physician in Kingston and Belleville, Ontario. Her clinical and academic interests focus on the intersection of palliative care and critical care, procedural skills in palliative medicine, and the care of patients with non-malignant disease.
Dr. O'Neill is also actively involved in medical education. She has developed a simulation-based curriculum for rotating palliative care fellows, with a particular emphasis on enhancing communication skills.
