Dr. Arun Agha is a palliative medicine and internal medicine physician who is an Assistant Professor in Queen’s University Department of Medicine. Dr. Agha completed his medical degree at the University of British Columbia where he earned the Doctors of BC Changemaker Award for his involvement in growing the Vancouver Street Soccer League, a ‘sport-for-development’ program for marginalized individuals. He subsequently completed his post-graduate training in Internal Medicine at the University of Toronto and most recently, his palliative medicine subspecialty training at Queen's University.
Prior to his medical training, he completed a Master of Science at the University of British Columbia in the field of Rehabilitation Sciences, where he studied older adults’ experiences in a fall prevention exercise program in rural Canadian communities. Dr. Agha’s clinical interests include the integration of palliative care to patients with non-malignant illnesses like heart failure, chronic kidney disease and COPD.
