Benjamin Ott is a Biostatistician for the Translational Institute of Medicine (TIME) and for the Queen’s CardioPulmonary Unit (QCPU). He graduated in 2021 with a BSc. (Hons) from Trent University majoring in both Mathematics and Physics; with a specialization in statistics. In 2023, he completed a MSc in Statistics from Queen’s University, where he worked on designing new statistical tests for use in time series analysis. During his degree he developed an interest for statistical methodologies used in health sciences research and translational medicine.
Benjamin’s expertise includes conducting a wide variety of data analyses using multiple languages (R, Python, MATLAB, etc.), including but not limited to; transcriptomic analysis, survival analysis, time series, and non-parametric and parametric modelling including linear regression and ANOVA. He specializes in the analysis of vast data samples covering multiple fields and generating aesthetically pleasing plots for use in publication
When Benjamin is not conducting statistics, he enjoys cooking for friends and family, as well as, training his dog in both agility and obedience.
