Dr. Heather Johnson is a general internist who joined the Queen’s Division of General Internal Medicine as an Assistant Professor in January 2021. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from McGill University and completed medical school, Internal Medicine residency, and General Internal Medicine subspecialty training at Queen’s University. She has also completed an Addictions fellowship at the University of Toronto and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.
Her clinical work involves attending on the inpatient Clinical Teaching Units, the General Internal Medicine consult team, and ambulatory clinics at Kingston Health Sciences Centre. She is also part of the Substance use Treatment And Rehabilitation Team (START), which provides inpatient addiction medicine consultations at KHSC. She has an academic interest in improving the care of inpatients with substance use disorders and improving access to addictions services.
