Dr. Karine Gauthier joined the Department of Medicine at Queen’s University in 2023, in the Division of Hematology. Prior to her medical studies, she completed a bachelors with honours in biomedical sciences with a minor in environmental studies with the University of Ottawa. She continued her studies in Ottawa where she completed medical school, as well as internal medicine residency and hematology residency. Following residency training, Dr. Gauthier completed a fellowship in myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) and leukemia at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto. She is also in the process completing a masters in healthcare quality with Queen’s University.
Her research and academic interests focus on frailty in patients with MPNs, novel mutations in patients with triple negative MPNs, and quality improvement in oncology.
