Dr. Ian Britton attended Queen’s University in Mechanical Engineering, 2001-2005. After this, completed his Master of Applied Sciences in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the Ottawa-Carleton Institute for Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in 2008. Dr. Britton then went on to complete his medical training at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, finishing in 2012. From 2012 to 2018, Dr. Britton did his postgraduate medical training in Internal Medicine and Adult Cardiology at the University of Toronto. This was followed by a fellowship in Advanced Echocardiography at University Health Network in Toronto. From 2019-2021, Dr. Britton completed additional fellowship training in Interventional Cardiology at the University of Calgary, earning a teaching award for his contribution to the cardiology training program. 

His main clinical interest includes Interventional Cardiology with a special interest in intracoronary imaging and its role in diagnosis, management and optimization of percutaneous coronary interventions. Other clinical interests include cardiac critical care and the echocardiographic evaluation of disease for structural heart intervention. His main non-clinical interest is in medical education.
