A native Calgarian, Dr. Janet Lui completed a B.Sc. (Hons) in Cellular, Molecular, and Microbial Biology at the University of Calgary prior to completing her undergraduate medical studies and Core Internal Medicine training at the University of Alberta. She subsequently completed her fellowship in Hematology at the University of Ottawa.
Dr. Lui is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, cross-appointed to the Department of Oncology, and has been the Adult Hematology Residency Program Director since 2019. She maintains a large General Hematology practice at Kingston General Hospital, Hotel Dieu Hospital, and the Cancer Centre of South Eastern Ontario.
Dr. Lui's chief academic interest is in medical education, and she has completed a Certificate of Health Professions Education program at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Passionate about clinical teaching, she was awarded the Queen's University Internal Medicine Sub-specialty Teaching Award in 2016 and 2021.
