Dr. Thakrar received a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biology from the University of New Brunswick and went on to complete his Medical Degree and Internal Medicine Training at the University of Saskatchewan. He came to Queen's to complete his Cardiology fellowship and went on to the University of Toronto for a clinical fellowship in Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology. He returned as a staff cardiologist in July 2012.
Dr. Thakrar has clinical interests in multimodality imaging, and stress testing. He has published in the fields of blood pressure monitoring and primary cardiac tumours. In addition to this, Dr. Thakrar has a keen interest in medical education.
