Dr. Maria Gabriela Rodriguez Herrera is an internationally trained dermatologist with a strong interest in complex medical dermatology. She completed her medical degree and dermatology residency at the University of Costa Rica, followed by a clinical fellowship in Advanced Medical Dermatology at the University of Toronto.
Her clinical experience spans both hospital-based care and outreach to underserved communities in Costa Rica and remote areas of Canada. She has a particular interest in autoimmune and inflammatory skin diseases such as lupus and psoriasis, as well as in skin cancer prevention and early detection.
Dr. Rodriguez Herrera values interdisciplinary collaboration and has experience working in combined dermatology–rheumatology clinics for patients with lupus and psoriasis. She is committed to advancing equitable dermatologic care through research, education, and leadership. She completed the Global Oncology Leadership Development Program at Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto, where she strengthened her focus on preventative oncology and early diagnosis.
She prioritizes patient-centered care and emphasizes clear communication and empathy in every clinical encounter.
